After Making the Connection, What’s the Next Step?
We don’t want you to be completely left in the dark now that you and your crush
are talking to each other. Here are a few suggestions in case you don’t know
what to do next. Remember these are only suggestions and ultimately you must
decide what is and what is not best for you.
Do’s and Don’ts
Do schedule a first date with your crush if they
have not asked you on a date yet.
Do plan a date in which you can promote effortless
conversation for at least half of the date. Too much noise or going to places
that require complete silence for almost the full date could make talking and
listening very difficult.
Do listen to your crush on your date and learn how
compatible you really are for each other. No one likes to be ignored.
Do be yourself. If your crush doesn’t like who you
are, it’s better to find out now before you invest too much time into a
relationship that isn’t based on a foundation of honesty.
Don’t wear socks with sandals. Believe us, we’ve
done our research.
Don’t take your crush to a fast food restaurant for
the first time you meet.
Don’t drink too much alcohol on your first date.
You want to have full control of your thoughts over the entirety of the date.
Don’t drink and drive. It’s the law.
1st Date Ideas
Sometimes it’s good to keep it simple. Dinner and a movie is a great fallback
plan if you don’t feel comfortable with other options.
If the weather permits, a picnic can make a great inexpensive and intimate
setting to learn more about your date.
For a short and sweet daytime meet up, a hot cup of coffee and some steamy
conversation can go a long way. Best of all, the date could go anywhere from
there.
If an exciting local event is coming up, you should take your crush because it
may turn out to be one of the most memorable times you ever experience.
More Active/Outdoor Date: When taking out an athletic partner, you may want to
go hiking, horseback riding, or go canoeing.
Refined Date: If your date is the type of person that would probably prefer
lobster to a Big Mac, you could go to the theatre, art gallery, or a wine
tasting.
Laid Back and Relaxing Date: When you’re going to go out with someone who may
enjoy a more casual atmosphere, you could choose to go bowling, ice skating in
winter, inline skating, or to visit the aquarium.
